Uniforms are Required!

In Kenya, all students are required to purchase a uniform in order to attend school. To ensure that more children have the opportunity to go to school, CPG provides uniforms for 500 to 600 children attending Matangwe Primary School and the Preschool Program at the Community Centre. Each child is given one school uniform each year. Each uniform costs approximately $8 each for an annual cost of about $4,000 to $4,500. The employees at MCHDP purchase the material required for the uniforms, and hire local seamstresses to sew together the uniforms. Uniform day is an exciting occasion each year.
